Croissants from the counter

The butter croissant is the quickest thing to order with a morning coffee and the easiest to pair with anything, from espresso to matcha. The chocolate croissant asks for a stronger coffee, so the sweetness and the bitterness balance each other. Both are on the counter from the morning, and both are at their best in the first hours, while the layers are still crisp.

Cakes

Carrot cake · 450 RSD
A moist, spiced carrot cake with cream. Full enough to hold up next to filter coffee, mild enough not to swallow the flavour of the bean.
Medovik · 500 RSD
The Russian honey cake: thin honey layers stacked with cream and left overnight to soften. Soft, lightly caramelised and not overly sweet.
Brownie · 450 RSD
Dense and dark, at its best with an espresso to cut the sweetness.
Cookie · 300 RSD
A large cookie for an iced coffee, when it is too hot for cake.
Muffin · 350 RSD
The flavour depends on the day. Ask the barista what is in today.

What goes with what

One rule rarely fails: the stronger the coffee, the sweeter the dessert may be. Brownie with espresso, carrot cake with filter or batch brew, croissant with cappuccino, cookie with iced coffee. With a matcha latte pick something mild, a butter croissant for instance, so it does not run over the grassy taste of the matcha. When a matcha cheesecake turns up in the display, do not wait too long, it goes fast.

To take away

Everything in the display travels, with a coffee from the same house. Croissants and cookies travel best, and we will pack a slice of cake if you are in a hurry. How that works, and what survives the walk, is on the coffee to go page. We are at Bulevar despota Stefana 83.

What to drink with dessert

If coffee is not an option, hot chocolate (320 RSD), cocoa, tea or a fresh orange juice sit well next to a slice. In summer there is lemonade and kombucha, and a matcha latte goes with sweet things better than it sounds, especially with something mild like a butter croissant. The full drinks list is on the menu.
